Wine Bottling Supplies How Do I Fit A Cork Into A Wine Bottle?

How do I fit a cork into a wine bottle? - wine bottling supplies

I have a number of wine bottles and corks to fit new (purchased from a supplier of beer), but how the cap on the bottle of wine? Is it just a matter of brute force or is there a trick to make this easier? Maybe I am not strong enough ... Cork is conical, is the same all the way and hard. I tried to shave a little bit to get it going, but even then, the cap is simply too strong in the bottle more than the push. Thanks

You must have a Corker. There are different types. I included a link to a company that sold. Capping hand works well, but not as easy as using restriction stand. If you have a lot of bottled wines, which would invest in a hut Nice Corker.

Get a decent Corker, and if you do not want to buy beer at stores will rent an apartment for a low price Corker today. Do not boil the corks ... If you reduce an acceptable Corker, no need to congestion and, in fact, boil damage to the cellular structure of cork and the likelihood of leakage and / or increased oxidation of the wine. If you are really concerned about the sanitation caps, place them in a closed bucket for a few days with an open pot with a strong sulfite solution in the interior. Disinfect SO2 gas emitted from the sulfite solution to the cork without soaking in liquid.

Try eBay and pick up a Corker, your needs and your budget. Prior to loading on to boil, the cork for several minutes and keep the lid was immersed in boiling water. That both soft and disinfected.

You need a Corker
It is a device specifically designed to the proper pressure and force the cork into the bottle.
